  Greetings,
  Loren Easter of Macomb here.
My wife Maggie and I have ridden RAGBRAI with the Sigourney Weavers Team of Sigourney, Iowa for the last 4 years. They have thier own bus and usually, all but the first night, have a private home and showers in the overnight town to stay at. They camp in the yard and once in a while get to sleep in the A/C on floor space.

The team is desperately trying to fill the last two spots on their team of 14-15 riders. The registration/bus/team-fee amounts to about $250/ticket and covers the whole week. Food is on your own but the team often jumps on the bus or walks into town for a feasting as a group.

The team will gather in Sigourney on Friday, 20 July. Overnight at the team captain's house. Then get up Saturday morning for the final pack/load and drive to the start. Starting the ride Sunday morning, 22 July, the bus leapfrogs to the overnight towns carrying the teams gear and is always waiting for you, often unloaded, at the next overnight accomodation.

As you can see from the picture the team is about half older crowd and half younger crowd and everyone is always well behaved and respectful. There is room for and a cooler for food and a beer or two in the grand scheme of packing the bus. Bikes are securely mounted in the bus and gear is in rubbermaid tubs inside as well. Sagging out on the bus is discouraged but is OK if it can't be avioded. It is a ride at your own pace team and you don't have to wear any silly costumes.

I wish we were going and could take the two tickets off their hands but it didn't work out for us this year. This is a great group of people and of course RAGBRAI is always an adventure in and of itself. Lance Armstrong will be riding the full week across Iowa this year (he road 1.5 days last year and got hooked) so 2007 will be that much more interesting.

If you are interested, a veteran or first timer whos been wanting to try RAGBRAI, this is a great opportunity. Reply to me and I will get you as much info as you need. I will be out canoeing 5-7 July and won't get to check email. That'll give you all time to think about it. If you know any responsible individuals or couples that don't get this email and might be interested pass it along. I am comfortable submitting this out to the Macomb Cyclists because they have been a great group to know and the Sigourney Weavers will be better for the company.

  Thanks
  Loren and Maggie
