The purpose of this email to inform as many cyclists as possible that
the proposed bicycle path that was planned to be developed at the
University Drive Park (Macomb Park District—see
http://parks.macomb.com/planning/universitydriveparkrendering.jpg) is
under consideration to not be included in the development of the park.
If you are in favor of this bicycle path being developed, you should
send a letter to Ray Peterson in support of the bike path being
developed as per the original plans for this park. You can send your
letter to:
Ray Peterson, Executive Director
Macomb Park District
1406 North Randolph Street
Macomb IL, 61455
Brief background: I was talking today with John Hemingway who serves
on the Macomb Park District Board. He told me about the situation and
suggested I contact others who are opposed to removing the bike paths
from the park plans. John is very supportive of keeping the bike path
in the plans but stated that public support would make a big
difference on this issue regarding keeping the bike paths in the park
plans.
Thanks,
Bruce Harris
