Scott,

Thank you for the email. We'd love to have another disc golf course in the area
and will assist in any way we can. That being said, you should consider getting
ahold of Wilbur Wallis of the Peoria Frisbee Club. He's probably done more course
design and maintenance than anybody in the area - and he's closer to Hanna City
than Macomb.

According to the PFC website (peoriadiscgolf.com) wilbur can be reached at:

    Wilbur Wallis wilbur at illinoisdiscgolf.com (217) 8938195

If you have trouble getting ahold of him or just want additional input please don't
hesitate to write back. I will spread the word amongst the Macomb area disc golfers
so please keep us up to date on any progress.

As for my 2 cents worth - you need to decide what the goal of your course is. If
you want to attract recreational players - you'l need a design that can attract them:
shorter holes that reward finess more than power. On the other hand if you want to attract
high caliber competative players (and there are plenty in the area), you'll want some
holes with more distance and holes that punish a player for throwing a bad shot. When
we built our first 18 hole course in macomb, we attempted to balance between the two
with the front 9 holes being more finess oriented and the back 9 more power oriented.
It has proved to be very popular so far. We also chose not to do concrete tee pads until
the course had been in operation for a full season. That allowed us to easily change
a couple of holes for better design before committing to concrete.

There is a lot of helpful info online, too:

Thanks!
