NORTH EAST WATER MAIN PROJECT BEGINS

Construction began Monday, May 12, 2008 on the North East Water Main Project in the City of Macomb. The project will replace approximately 13,000 feet of cast iron water mains in sections of Oak, Elm, Ash, State, Murray, Pierce, Wheeler, Adams, Mechanic, Pearl, Monroe and White Streets. The project is designed to improve water flow and pressure, along with improving water quality in the area, due to the interior condition of the aging and deteriorating cast iron water mains.<P>Construction is expected to continue through the summer months and may result in short term closures of area streets and driveways.<P>The Public Works Department requests and appreciates the patience and cooperation of area residents and the general public as this important project commences.<P>If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Public Works Deparmtent at 833-2821.
