I am interested in finding out the status of the line pending abandonment. I was last over that way in May and June, visiting relatives and followed line what I could on the way back. There was then a Union Pacific locomotive in La Harpe, somewhat defaced with graffitti. The track is rusty east of derail at milepost 194 east of la Harpe. I saw no rolling stock on line. The "diamond" crossing Burlington Northern Santa fe in Bushnell was intact and interlocking signals functioning and rad. In Canton, the gate crossing the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Vermont-Yates City branch was set for TP&W. The diamond crossing Burlington was gone. Only TP&W track was intact. When I cross the same Burlington Track in Ipava on 136, the rails appear to have some shine, so trains must stll use this section, perhaps to Lewistown. After I got on US 24 near Mapleton, I believe that is east of the abandoned section. Rails are still shiny for TP&W under US 24 overpass. I saw a red and blue locomotive without lettering running light, but about to switch coal cars for the South Pekin Commonwealth Edison (or whatever that is called now) power plant.

How often do trains run on section under litigation, if at all? Is the TP&W a designated operator for what freight traffic is still operated?

What about the Burlington Northern Yates City-Vermont line?

I would like to know how amny trains still run and waht the status is, if anyone over there knows.
